Over the next few weeks, we're going to be highlighting our favorite swim brands one by one. Everything from who's behind the brand to our staff style picks. First up...what we could only define as the the "It Girl" swim brand and not for the faint of heart, the one and only - Frankies Bikinis. 

Brand Background

Frankies Bikinis was founded in 2012 by Malibu raised founder Francesca Aiello. She was always picky about her bikinis so her mom encouraged her to have her suits custom made. Once she started creating bikinis for her friends and gaining traction on Instagram Frankies Bikinis was started. Frankies Bikinis now has a cult following on social media and is known for their trendy styles, luxurious fabrics, and cheeky bottoms. The Malibu inspired bikinis are made in Los Angeles and is a go-to brand for the trendy beach babe.

I first discovered Frankie’s Bikinis at a small swim shop in Hawaii and I instantly fell in love with the fit and comfort of the bikinis. Since then I consistently buy Frankies for every trip and vacation. Their social media presence always keeps me wanting more because they have the best new prints, colors and textures in their collections and usually when they sell out they are gone for good - so it's hard to not jump on a style as soon as they release it! The price is there for a reason and I don't mind investing in a bikini that covers my three needs - comfort, quality and style. 

Styles I Love: I love the cheeky bottom styles that have a high hip or are a mid rise fit (so not quite high waisted but enough to cover the hips). I have a pretty long torso and shorter legs, so I avoid low cut bottoms as they only make me look awkwardly long. Since I am pretty petite on top, I tend to go for top styles that are either triangle or cut lower in the front. I’m all about getting tan lines if I am in a bikini so those are my go to top styles. The Jordan top & bottom combo is a perfect example of the styles that I have been loving. Most of their tops are adjustable so if you have a smaller or bigger chest most will work for either. There is a large variety of bikinis from itsy bitsy ones to tan in, to sporty tops for activities, and trendy ones to look cute at a poolside. You can definitely find what works for you and your lifestyle.

Fit and Comfort: The brand in general runs small all around, so no matter what style you are getting I recommend sizing up from your everyday sizes. I typically wear an x-small in tops and sports bras but I always get a size small in the tops. As for bottoms I’m a size 24-25 and get a small in the bottoms as well, but if I want my bottoms to be more high hip I sometimes will even do a medium even if i fit into the small (I do have somewhat of a booty). All of their bikinis are made with buttery soft fabric, even their ribbed styles so they don’t cut into your skin at all and it feels like you aren’t wearing anything at all. Most of their bottom styles are cheeky, which I love, because they don’t flatten down your butt. Suns out buns out, am I right?
