We love our college babes here at VIDA | MOULIN, and we often get a huge surge of young ladies when it's time to find those outfits for sorority recruitment. To make this time a little easier for you all, we've asked one of our favorite models, Samantha Lewter, to put together her tips for how to dress to impress.
Samantha is a senior at Arizona State University, studying Sociology, and a sorority member of the Delta Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta.
- Dress so your comfortable. You don’t want to be walking around all day in something you’re constantly tugging on or adjusting. You’re going to be getting up, sitting down, running from place to place and probably sweating quite a bit. So it will benefit you to be comfortable, so you can focus on rush and not on your shorts riding up your bum.
- Wear something that is you. Some of these women will be your best friends for life, so show off your personality with your outfits. Plus, wearing something that you’re absolutely in love with will boost your confidence through the roof. Recruitment is slightly nerve racking so you’ll need some confidence to get you through the process.
- Don’t show a lot of skin. By this I mean your breasts, butt and belly. Obviously, you can wear whatever you want outside of recruitment, but it is a formal recruitment and you want to look as classy as possible. Do your best to not show those three things, but sometimes it is inevitable and that’s completely understandable. A little bit isn’t going to hurt I promise, but you just don’t want to be that girl that shows up in a bathing suit, ya dig?
- Last but not least. DO NOT compare your outfit or yourself to other women. You are unique, beautiful and everything in between. You will absolutely kill it in whatever outfits you decide to wear.
While every school's recruitment is different, here are recommendations for each day of recruitment based on how Arizona State University does it.
Day 1: This round is going to be more casual since this is one of the longer days of the recruitment process. For this round, you will want to wear a casual top or bodysuit. Pair this with casual shorts or a skirt and you are good to go. As far as shoes choose cute sandals, booties or even some sneakers would be perfect!
Day 2: This day is pretty much the same as the first except slightly more dressed up. This day would be good for a blouse and casual shorts. You could also wear a casual dress with flats as well!
Day 3: Round 3 is definitely more dressed up than the first two rounds. For this round you can wear a sundress, romper, or jumpsuit. I would suggest wearing wedges or heels if possible. If not, just throw on a cute pair of sandals or anything you are comfortable in!
Preference: For this outfit you should wear a dress, jumpsuit or romper. It should definitely be a little dressy but nothing too crazy but definitely wear heels. This is an outfit you would wear to a graduation or Easter brunch.
No matter what outfit you choose, make sure it is YOU. You are rushing to find your people, so being your genuine self is extremely important when going through recruitment. Your future sorority sisters won't be looking at every detail of your outfit every day, they will be looking at who you are as a person.
