This past week, the VIDA | MOULIN ladies escaped the AZ heat for a (somewhat) cooler Los Angeles. We previewed Resort '17 and Spring '18 collections, as well as snuck in time for some well deserved fun. Keep reading for what upcoming trends we discovered, where we stayed, what we ate, and of course, what we wore.
After previewing 1000s of samples, we noticed a few standout trends. Whether you love it or hate it, Millennial pink is here to stay and well into spring, you'll see a wide spectrum of blush tones as well as a continuation of the nude trend. New Spring colors to keep an eye out for are golden yellows and burnt oranges, which we saw from Australian brands Rue Stiic, Faithfull the Brand and Zulu and Zephyr.
Don't worry all the money you're investing in Jumpsuits and Matching Sets are worth it, as these trends are not going anywhere. As for Swim, we are going big this Spring! One pieces in clean solids and stripes were seen across all of our brands and if you haven't jumped on the high rise bikini bottom, definitely expect to see this retro style everywhere very soon.
WHERE WE STAYED
We typically prefer to avoid the crowds of Hollywood tourists but decided to try out The Hollywood Roosevelt.
Specifically, to take advantage of their fabulous pool. This hotel gives you the best of both worlds with old Hollywood architecture through the main lobby and updated rooms that are modern and minimalist.
Prior to dinner, we sipped rosé by the pool and people watched but were disappointed to find that the hotel's new restaurant The Rosy Oyster
is closed on Mondays. If you're in town make sure to stop at this uber Instagram-worthy spot.
WHERE WE ATE
That night, we hit up West Hollywood and dined at new Italian restaurant, The Ponte
. We loved the ambience of the back courtyard area and ate among twinkling lights and lush landscape. We indulged on steak tar tar, delicious pasta dishes, shishito peppers, and ended with a perfectly sweet coconut meringue whip. Fabulous night out on the town that we highly recommend.
WHAT WE WORE
Unfortunately, Los Angeles was experiencing a heat wave during our short visit, but nothing that us Arizona girls couldn't handle. We packed new arrivals from ASTR The Label
and Flynn Skye
including this Florentina Dress (available online here
) and Dylan Pant (in store only). The shop is filled with vacation ready outfits and you can check out all of our new arrivals here
Stay tuned for more city guides from us in the coming months as our summer travels continue!
